Making Shor – Cybersecurity in a Quantum World
Track 101 – 1:00pm
“John Follin Director Holus Creative”
Bio
Quantum curious Data / Enterprise/ Solution Architect covering a range of complex business sectors (e.g. Health, Banking). I have over 40 years’ experience of architecting and building large and complex computer systems for high profile clients like the NHS, HSBC, Boots Health, Co-Op Bank and Novo Nordisk. Whilst I am not a cybersecurity expert, no client wants vulnerable systems or their data held insecurely – especially so in Health and Finance. Quantum Computing is, and increasingly will, threaten that security and the time to do something about it is now.
Talk Abstract
The potential impact of Quantum computers on the various aspects of cybersecurity – both the threats posed by Shor's algorithm but also the ways it can help with things like Quantum Key Distribution, entangled particles. The presentation assumes no knowledge of quantum computing so also provides something of a 'primer' for quantum computing for anyone new to the field.
Intended Audience
Those new to quantum computing. No prior knowledge is assumed or required
