Virtual Careers Day
Did you know that we are having a VIRTUAL CAREERS DAY on Friday 23rd June?
If you are hiring anywhere in the UK for information security / cyber security professionals, then this could be for you!
Are you looking to hire talented individuals to join your team?
Do you want to connect with job seekers who are passionate about information security at all levels of their career?
As part of our upcoming conference, as well as hosting an in-person day on Saturday 24th June, we will be hosting a virtual careers day on Friday 23rd June.
This is a UK-wide event that will be hosted online via Gather Town, providing an opportunity for businesses across the country to connect with talented industry professionals from the comfort of their own homes. We are currently seeking sponsors for the event, and we believe that this would be a great opportunity for businesses who are looking to hire to showcase their brand and connect with job seekers.
If you sponsor the in-person day, you will get a free virtual careers room for our Careers event.
Sponsor packages for the careers day start at £500 for your own branded room.

Call for Volunteers
Do you want to volunteer to help at BSides Leeds?
There are many great reasons to volunteer – being part of the community, networking, and seeing the inner workings of a conference. However it isn’t an easy role, and you won’t generally see much of the conference!
If you want to offer to help, we have a volunteer sign up form here -

Keep your eyes peeled on Eventbrite for the first ticket drop here
There will be 2 separate ticket types – Tickets for the virtual careers day, which will be via Gather Town on Friday 23rd June and Tickets for the in-person day on Saturday 24th June.
You will need a ticket for both events if you want to attend both, or for either / or depending on which you wish to attend.

Red Note
We are pleased to announce the amazing Holly-Grace Williams Founder of Akimbo Core will be our Red Note and will kick off the talks for our Red Team Track at BSides Leeds.
Holly Grace has sixteen years of experience working within cybersecurity, with a focus on penetration testing and cybersecurity consultancy. Holly Grace has been a CREST Certified Application Tester since 2015 and has professional software development experience in Python and Rust, including taking software products to market. She has strong experience in building and securing cloud environments, with a focus on AWS and Azure. She has performed a significant number of penetration testing engagements for a wide range of companies from innovative start-ups to multinational corporations, in fields ranging from e-commerce to banking.
We can’t wait to have you with us at BSides Leeds on the 24th June.

Blue Note
We are pleased to announce the amazing Lisa Forte Co-Founder of Red Goat Cyber Security LLP will be our BlueNote and will kick off the talks for our Blue Team Track at BSides Leeds.
Lisa is an expert in running cyber crisis simulations and training higher risk staff on insider threats and social engineering. The Blue Note will cover preparing for a Cyber Incident, in Lisa’s unmistakeable style.
We can’t wait to have you with us at BSides Leeds on the 24th June.

Call For Papers
Our Call for Papers is now live for BSides Leeds. This will run until the 30th March, and we are keen for submissions from all sides of the security community.
We have a Red vs Blue theme, but we are open to all security talks.
We also have a virtual careers day on Friday 23rd June, where we would welcome virtual career talks.
All other talks submitted would be delivered in person on Saturday 24th June.
Papers can be submitted via papercall.

Red Vs Blue
We want to do things a little bit differently at BSides Leeds. We will have a Blue Track, and a Red Track throughout the day, then bring everyone together at the end of the day for a Purple Team Social – we are all one community after all!
Our call for papers will be released on Friday, and we will be announcing some great headliners very soon.
